B2     Gegenwart

After all efforts were put into Jacob Korn’s debut album during summer 2012 Uncanny Valley strikes back with namesake Jacob Stoy and his very first solo EP after his “S51” for the UV010-compilation.
Everything starts with “Redensart”, a sunny piece of music with a sneaky bassline and easy synth pads that come across like a warm rain shower: It’s House in the end but feels like so much more. “Hauswart” is an impressive example of how one can create a whole atmosphere of sound within two minutes. It’s short but feels so comfortable that you really like it to go on and on forever.
“Start” is maybe the most conventional Deep House track on the EP and seduces with catchy synth chords and thrilling drums. Finally “Gegenwart” brings things to a jazzy end with tipsy synths and tripping percussions.
The artwork comes from none other than Jacob’s father Olaf Stoy, who is a painter, lyricist and porcelain designer still working in Jacob’s hometown Rabenau near Dresden.

[BC 30] Textural Being ‎– The Sixth Gap

Textural Being ‎– The Sixth Gap

Series: Bedroom Compost – BC30
Format: CD, 10 × File, MP3, 320 kbps

Released: 07 Aug 2014

Textural Being is a name that many of you should know by now, if you've been keeping up with who's who in the current dub techno scene. Having released several fantastic works on labels such as Cold Tear, Deep In Dub, Energostatic, ZeECc, Auditory Cortex and Cold Fiction, among others, Mr. Being is now moving on from the moniker, transitioning over to a new project simply called aspect. Thus, The Sixth Gap is (in our humble opinion) not only one of his best excursions to date, but also one hell of an album to close the book on the Textural Being name.
The music is deep, moody and evocative of its namesake with swirling soft textures in spades. Groovy bass drums anchor the rhythm in a fog of floaty chords, their constant thumping a ghost of some long-forgotten deep house memory. What Textural Being evokes so well here is an air of familiarity while simultaneously sounding fresh and interesting. In a genre that is no doubt overflowing with homogeneity and monochrome, The Sixth Gap offers a vibrant atmosphere of just what good dub techno could and should be. Backed by a stellar remix cast of Axs, Ohrwert, Yan Olsen and Coppice Halifax, and limited to just 50 CD-Rs!

After a bit of a hiatus due to travels spreading the sound of tomorrow globally, we are back with the 10th installation of our White Label Series with a feel good project from our boy J-Louis.

This installment of our White Label Series comes from 21 year old LA-based producer and drummer, J Louis. You may remember Mr. Louis as the resourceful young man who experimented with beatmaking on his iPhone in the past. This time, he's been working with Ableton and other music creation programs to develop his signature sound further.

This White Label series sees J-Louis moving a into some more uptempo and housey vibes while still keeping his signature bass heavy sound intact.
SWL010 has J-Louis remixing rising vocalist @rachelfoxx in the "Before You" jam, sampling Raphael Saadiq & Teedra Moses Ft. Corey Tinay's "I Want You Back" in "Can't You See" and collaborating with dope producer, @orijanus on "Hot N Ready".

[YARN 010] Terrorrythmus ‎– Adaption Disorder Remixes Pt. 2

Terrorrythmus ‎– Adaption Disorder Remixes Pt. 2
Label: Yarn Audio ‎– YARN010
Format: 4 × File, Wav
Country: Germany
Released: 04 Aug 2014
Genre: Electronic
Style: House, Techno

Terrorrhythmus’ «Adapion Discorder» seems to be Yarn’s most smashing EP to date, judging by the almost endless amount of remixes. After the release of the uptempo remix-pack back in June, Yarn now presents «Adaption Disorder Remixes Pt. 2». The second remix-EP keeps up with the high energy, concentrating on a dancefloor-friendly tempo-range.
From Germany’s rough bank capital Frankfurt comes machine-musician Chris Geschwindner. The affiliate of the young label polen.rec woves «40h»’s pads and samples together with a shuffled house groove. His remix develops over eight minutes, leaving smiles everywhere with its airy and sunny atmosphere.
A totally different interpretation of «40h» comes from Llyphon. Terrorrhythmus’ mate from Bremen already released on his imprint Betonblume and DubKraftRecords. With stumbling bassdrums, flirring hi-hats and washed-out samples he transforms Terrorryhthmus’ trap track into a lush and varied piece of contemporary electronic music.
Also from Bremen comes producer and DJ in demand Tobs who just dropped his first vinyl on Drowned Records. His «Leaving Home»-version of «Post Smack» is full of warm pads and synths, unfolding sentimental feelings over a pretty straight house beat.
Uprising Belgian producer Take Away The Noise seems to have hardcore in his blood. His seven minute long adaption of «Post Smack» utilizes the original’s vocals in a stumping techno garment. Breaks and shuffled bassdrums penetrate the rough track which is designed to destroy dancefloors.

Tracklist:
1     Post Smack (Tobs’ Leaving Home Remix)
